Automations

Automations connect your ClickUp list to a template and mapping rules.

Create

  • Go to Automations → Create.

  • Select your ClickUp account, team, space, and list.

  • Save to create the automation record.

Configure

  • Upload a .docx template and optionally enable Convert to PDF.

  • Map fields: pick fields in Field Mappings, then use Copy placeholder to paste the exact tokens into your .docx.

  • Add field transformers as needed (dates, text, numbers, images).

  • Configure dynamic tables if you need repeating rows and copy the table placeholder into your template.

  • Set a naming pattern for generated files (optional).

Activate and Deactivate

When an automation is active, it can generate documents and vice versa when inactive. When a template document is not attached to an automation, it is automatically set as inactive.

Manage

  • Edit any configuration and re‑preview to validate changes.

  • Delete an automation from its detail page if no longer needed.
