Templates are .docx files with placeholders that DocuUp replaces with values from ClickUp tasks.
Design your document in Word (or Google Docs exported as .docx). Save as .docx and upload it to your automation.
In your automation, open Field Mappings, choose a field, and click Copy placeholder to get the exact token.
Paste the copied placeholder into your .docx where you want the value to appear.
DocuUp generates the correct placeholder for each field based on a sample ClickUp task.
Click on the field to copy the placeholder (like this {{...}} ) and paste it into your document.
Mapping binds each placeholder token to a task field or custom field. You can add transformers (date/text/number/image) per field.
Best practices:
Place the placeholder exactly as provided by the UI (including braces and spelling).
Enable "Convert to PDF" if you want the final attachment to be a PDF.
